At its annual Search On the conference, Google revealed seven new features and upgrades to local search. These changes will greatly improve how users search for areas, businesses, and restaurants on Google.
The local search changes rolling out soon include:
- Search for restaurants by dish – Google is expanding its restaurant search skills to include the ability to identify nearby restaurants that serve a certain meal.
- Discover restaurant specialities
- More support for digital menus – Google is increasing its coverage of digital menus while improving their appearance and keeping them up to date.
- Enhancements to Google Maps’ Live View
- Aerial views of famous landmarks – Google is over 250 photorealistic aerial views of global landmarks.
- Immersive view
- Neighbourhood vibe checks – Google claims that the neighbourhood vibe function is powered by a combination of AI and user-submitted data.
